Difference between 14k 18k and 24k Gold

Contrary to popular belief, not all types of gold are used in the same way. Gold used for rings, bracelets, watches and other fine jewelery is rarely 100% pure gold – instead, it comes in a variety of purity levels.

The most common gold purity levels of 10 K (Karat), 14 K, 18 K and 24-K. Gold purity of the advantages and disadvantages of each level presents its own, since the hardness and durability of some of the gold purity levels can contribute to skin irritation.

KARAT VS Carat: Measuring Purity level of Gold

The purity of gold is classified using the karate method. The karate system measures the proportion of pure gold in gold ornaments to other alloys. The pure gold in jewelry have higher the purity level.

How many karats is pure gold?

24 carats of pure gold, that is, 24 of 24 pieces of metal. Although these terms are familiar, the karate (k) system used to measure the purity of gold differs from the carat (c) mass used for the weight of diamonds.
